How it works

Art therapy is an experiential form of therapy where we use creativity to gain insights, express emotions, and initiate change. You don’t need any artistic experience. It’s not about the final result, but about the process.

Individual Therapy

Step 1: Introduction & Intake
Everyone is different, which is why therapy starts with an intake session. In this conversation, we explore your questions, background, and expectations. This helps us shape a therapeutic path that suits you.

Step 2: Art-Based Sessions
During the sessions, we work with various materials such as paint, clay, drawing tools, soapstone, wool, or collage techniques. Each session includes a conversation about what you’ve created. Depending on your situation and needs, we may use creative expression to explore emotions and thoughts, gain insight into patterns and begin to shift them, or engage in exercises that support relaxation and self-reflection.

Step 3: Evaluation and Closing
After several sessions, we review your progress together. What have you discovered? What insights have emerged? Do you need further support? This helps us tailor the therapy to your needs and determine the right time to end or continue the process.

Creative Workshops

In addition to individual sessions, I also offer workshops. Based on an introductory conversation where we explore goals, themes, and practical needs, I create a suitable creative workshop for your group of four to sixteen participants. Depending on your objectives, this can offer a low-threshold way to connect, moments for relaxation, tools to deal with conflict, building confidence, or a space to share personal stories.

Curious whether art therapy is right for you, or interested in learning more about the workshops? Feel free to get in touch for more information or to schedule a non-binding introductory session.
