Welcome! I’m Melanie, an art therapist. In my work, I support people individually, offer inspiring workshops, and collaborate with organizations and teams to create creative, safe, and healing spaces.


In my practice, I help you reconnect with yourself and your environment through creative expression. Sometimes words fall short – and that’s where working with images and materials can offer a deeper way to explore and process emotions and thoughts. Whether you feel stuck in your emotions, are experiencing stress, or simply want to understand yourself better: together we’ll look at what you need.


With an open, warm, and safe approach, I invite you to explore what’s inside you in a playful and intuitive way. Art therapy is for anyone who wants to express themselves and grow, regardless of artistic experience. It’s not about the final result – it’s about the process and your story.


In art therapy, you’re invited to discover what lives inside you, without needing to explain everything in words. It’s an accessible yet powerful way of working, where feeling, making, and experiencing are central.


Maa Therapy offers therapy for children, adolescents, and adults from the age of 16. In a calm and safe environment, you’re given the space to discover, experience, and grow at your own pace.

Collaborations

In one-on-one sessions, we explore what’s inside you using creative expression. Art therapy offers a different way to reflect on yourself, your emotions, and your patterns – without the pressure to put everything into words. No prior experience with art is necessary. It’s not about the outcome, but about what emerges and can be felt during the process.

Would you like to experience if art therapy is right for you? I offer a free, no-obligation introductory session where we explore your questions and needs together.

Are you a teacher, caregiver, or organization looking to explore meaningful themes creatively within your group or team? I design and facilitate tailored workshops that respond to your goals and context. In groups of 4 to 16 participants, we create an accessible space for art, connection, and growth – both personal and collective.

In addition to individual therapy and workshops, I am available for collaborations with organizations and institutions. I offer my expertise as an art therapist in guiding clients and group sessions, tailored to your target audience and context.

When I started art therapy with Melanie, I didn’t really know what to expect and felt quite nervous. From the very beginning, Melanie was understanding and took her time to calmly explain the creative exercises. Through various sessions, we worked on many different issues — from deep-rooted traumas to something as simple as having a bad day. What I appreciated most was that it never mattered how I arrived at a session. If the planned excercise didn’t fit, Melanie always offered something else that aligned better with how I was feeling at that moment. Thanks to the combination of art-based exercises and Melanie’s gentle and intuitive guidance, I gained a lot of insight that has really helped me.

I had a very negative self-image and was punishing myself for all kinds of things. Over time, I realized this was tied to past sexual trauma. Melanie is patient and really listens. Her loving attention helped me take myself more seriously and begin accepting myself — not just who I am, but also the impact of what I’ve been through.


She is kind, empathetic, and supportive. I’m now more at peace with myself. I carried so much grief from what I had experienced, and now I feel that grief has found a place.

Your investment

Art therapy is an investment in yourself.
The cost for individual sessions and evaluations is €90, with the first three sessions (incl. intake) being €60 per hour. Workshops are offered on a customized basis and priced upon request.


Some health insurers (in the Netherlands) offer partial reimbursement for art therapy through supplementary insurance packages. This is often categorized under ''vaktherapie'' or ''alternatieve zorg''. Please check with your insurance provider to see what applies to your situation.
